HUE COLOR STORY 03 Rewriting History with Bethany & Andrew | Noank, CT
Working with Bethany and Andrew on their new (to them) historic home nestled in Noank, Connecticut was so exciting. We had our work cut out for us. The house is beautiful, but the existing colors were morbid, dark, gloomy, and moody. Bethany saw beyond what was existing, which is often hard for people to do, and we collaborated together to create a color palette that’s a direct reflection of who she and Andrew are as people. She requested a yellow for the body of her exterior. I got to work, knowing that this yellow needed to have warmth, depth, joyfulness, and a softness. It had to reflect light in just the right way. I presented Bethany and Andrew with three colors. We knew right away, as the three went up, what the color was going to be. We then were able to establish custom colors for the other accents in the home. We pulled from the couple’s love of sailing and the ocean and brought in some nautical blue notes. The color design of this house is such a joyful reflection of who they are now, and was an honor to tackle together.

KIND WORDS
“Justin came up with a color palette that I just loved! Most impressively, she transformed my house into the sanctuary that I wanted my home to become.”
